Victor Geisel, Vice President of Koga Conglomerate (and second-in-command to President/CEO Koga Shuko, the Prince of Silver Lake), invited Janet Blakely, Farah Eldridge, Karen Glaub, and three other neonates to his office after sunset. He explained that several members of Mu Alpha Gamma (the “Magsmen") had been suspected of joining loosely-knit anarch gangs, a pattern which is not uncommon among the Brujah. Aside from suspicious behavior, a number of Brujah had been found with yellow-handled switchblades hidden on their persons - knives used as anarch symbols for the last thirty-five years.
The most pressing issue was an attack on Geisel's godson, Zechariah “Zeke" Adams. Zeke was walking through Silver Park when a mugger confronted him, demanding his money and class ring. When Zeke wouldn't surrender it, the mugger stabbed him in the heart with a knife, stole the items, and fled. Zeke's paralyzed form was brought to the morgue; once the blade was removed, he took it and fled as soon as he was unobserved. The knife in question was a yellow-handled switchblade.
Both Geisel and Zeke believed the mugger to be an anarch, due to the damning circumstantial evidence. Geisel suggested the neonates check the park itself, as well as pay a visit to Dani “Chud" Chudnovsky, an information broker of the Nosferatu bloodline who lives in the steam tunnels underneath Silver Lake University; to aid in the latter, he gave them a poppet made of hair as a goodwill token for Chud.

In Silver Park, the neonates found Zeke's class ring on the shore of the pond. They also found a Gangrel named Glen who was waiting in the bushes, hoping that Zeke's attacker would return to the scene. Glen revealed that he had noticed an unusual scent of sweat lingering in the area, not all of which could have come from the policeman who found Zeke.
The party proceeded to SLU's steam tunnels, where Chud found them first. After eagerly accepting the popper, she revealed that recent events had disrupted the usual contact points within the police department; despite this, there have been suggestions that Zeke's attacker was not a Brujah at all, nor an anarch. Chud suggested they seek out Greta at Cyber 8, downtown.
Arriving at Cyber 8, which turned out to be a new wave club, they found Greta - a Toreador with green hair and a radiant countenance - but had difficulty conversing with her due to the volume of the music. She refused to tell anything to a bunch of neonates, until Janet knocked her to the ground with one powerful punch. While pinned to the dance floor, Greta revealed that the mugger was not only a mortal, but had already been apprehended by the city police.

After solving this minor mystery, the neonates each went off to hunt for their night's sustenance. Janet, together with several of her clan-mates, paid a visit to her former roommate at SLU, messily feasting on her and stuffing her body in the refrigerator. Farah lured a passerby into an alley and drained only enough blood to sustain her, then quietly slipped away. Karen went back to James' cabin, and they went on a hunt in the forest for wild deer.
